The entire BT experience for men, if done yeshivish style, is little more than emasculation. From the celebacy, the shutting down of the mind, the handing personal autonomy over to a 'rav', the being broke, the dating which is all about catering to the woman, the cancelling of your life, it's the equivalent of castration. And then comes marriage which is castration after the castration.
