Jews without mitzvos

David Tepper, founder of the Wall Street Appaloosa hedge fund and owner of the NFL's Carolina Panthers, currently has a net worth exceeding $20 billion and is notoriously known as a ruthless figure who never forgets a grudge.

Back when Tepper was young, he worked as a trader at Goldman Sachs, making a fortune for the firm. But his then-department head and Goldman CEO, Jon Corzine, found his loud voice and crude manners unrefined, rejecting his promotion to Goldman partner twice in a row. Furious, Tepper quit to start his own venture, nailing the precise bottom of the subprime mortgage crisis to become the most profitable fund godfather on Wall Street. As for that former boss who once looked down on him, Corzine later not only went bankrupt in business but also got divorced. Upon hearing the news, Tepper shelled out a whopping $43.5 million in cash to buy the family's beloved oceanfront estate in the Hamptons, New York; after getting the keys, he never even stepped inside for a day, instead calling in heavy bulldozers to raze the mansion his ex-boss had lived in for years right then and there, smashing it to bits. Then, on the very same spot, he built a new palace twice the size of the original—just to vent his spleen.

Tepper was born on September 11, 1957.[6] He is the second of three children of Harry, an accountant, and Roberta, an elementary school teacher.[7] He was raised in a Jewish family in the Stanton Heights neighborhood of the East End of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[8]
