Nefesh b'Nefesh Deception

The aliyah sales people misrepresent life in Israel. Here's how NBN depicts the housing:

Here's what you really get:

Here's what the apartment building will look like:

Can you even afford it? An apartment like this will cost you $700,000. Here's what you can buy in Dallas for that price:

Here's your neighborhood in Israel:

Here's Dallas:

Why does NBN misrepresent? Well obviously they make more money if they get more people to come over, whether it's good for those people or not.

But I think also that they are delusional. They even believe that Israel has an economy or medical care that can compare to America when it does not. How is that possible? It starts with the misdirection of the Jewish soul. Devotion to G-d is replaced by devotion to Israeli society. But since the soul is only interested in G-d, they are starting with self-deception. And it grows from there.

You will find that aliyah salespeople lie about everything: housing, income, health care, schools, community. There is no topic about which they don't wildly exaggerate or just plain lie.

What Nefesh b'Nefesh does is convince you that Israel is just like America, only better because it's Jewish. They also convince you that they will be your best friend once you get here, but in fact they disappear, providing next to no help at all.

Worse, Israel is not Jewish. It's Israeli. And there's a vast difference.
