Your most prized possession is your emunah. Nobody can take it away from you without your consent. Even people in prison can hold on to their emunah. Sometimes it grows there. But you can lose your emunah if you are not careful, and people who pretend to be religious can be the greatest threat to it. Take, just as an example, yeshivist people. They'll tell you that nothing in life matters but Brisker Lomdus. And since the ones telling you this parade around in black suits and beards you believe them. Since they speak with authoritative voices you believe them. Since they berate you, you believe them. And the result, they rob you of mitzvos and of mental health and you lose your emunah. Take davening for example. If davening in minyanim that go on forever makes you crazy, then you should leave the room because davening is there to boost your emunah and feeling crazy robs you of it. But the yeshivists stage long minyanim because they don't actually work for a living and they have time to kill and they present tefillah, along with everything else, as a rigid obligation. That alone shows you that they don't grasp the concept of emunah. They are all about authoritarianism, which is how they maintain their power in the absence of real content. Once again, they kill emunah. I suspect that's their intention. They want to kill emunah so you worship them.
